Rewarded At Roaring Pines
You reached for the brass ring, got hold of it, and never let go. You sought success, and each triumph made you hungrier for the next. The accolades you earned allowed you to pursue additional passions. Some were lifelong, having captured your imagination early on. Others were discovered later, igniting new interests.

For many, these involved four wheels and a rumbling engine, all packaged within sinewy lines or outrageous angles. Sometimes these machines incorporated both, with a stylistic number and a cornucopia of color announcing its audacious presence at some of the biggest races in the world. Car culture. It evolved from a hobby into a lifestyle. Now, you have the keys. But what to do with them? You bring them to Florida, where just outside St. Augustine on 480 acres adjacent to Palatka-Kay Larkin Airport, an automotive utopia will soon take shape amid the straight and tall slash pines of Florida’s First Coast. Roaring Pines Motor Club is an exclusive motorsports community built by racers, for racers.
Its keystone is a soon-to-be FIA Grade 2-certified, 3.5-mile, 20-turn road course that can be split into three separate layouts:
• A flowing 2.75-mile circuit featuring a 4,000-foot-long straight, esses, banked corners and numerous elevation changes, all complemented by generous runoff areas.
• A tight .76-mile street course designed to simulate urban layouts, but without concrete barriers and light poles, providing a safe environment to maximize performance.
• An oval track that can expand from a quarter-mile to a 3/8-mile, affording the ideal conditions to refine car control.
Roaring Pines is the brainchild of Scott Lagasse and Scott Lagasse Jr., the father- and-son racing duo whose organization, TeamSLR, is helping advance next- generation talent in all forms of racing. TeamSLR is the reigning champion of Trans Am’s CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series, and undefeated through the first four races of 2026. Soon, Roaring Pines will be the team’s headquarters and house its fleet of racecars. “We’re building Roaring Pines Motor Club from a racer’s perspective,” said the elder Lagasse, a veteran driver who turned back- to-back SCCA national championships in 1985-1986 into a career that spanned sports cars and stock cars, from GT World Challenge and IMSA to the top levels of NASCAR. “Scotty and I wanted to create a place where enthusiasts of every level could learn, improve and enjoy car culture. Every corner, every straightaway and every configuration serves a purpose. Whether you’re developing a young driver, enjoying the capabilities of your high-performance car or vintage racecar, or simply sharpening your skills, this facility gives you the tools to do it in a safe, controlled environment with year-round availability.”

Luxury living augments the track elements. Paddock garages, garage lofts, estate villas and custom homes are all available at Roaring Pines, where members will have access to a clubhouse filled with top-line amenities. These include a restaurant, pool, spa, fitness center, racing simulators and event spaces, along with a first-floor museum, training classrooms and a rooftop viewing deck.
Bringing Roaring Pines to reality is a who’s who of industry leaders. CUBE 3 Architecture (building design), Rimrock Companies (construction management) and Christie’s International Real Estate First Coast (sales) are the pillars of Roaring Pines’ development. Groundbreaking is scheduled for late summer, as the Lagasses have been hands-on with state, city and county leadership, securing all the necessary approvals and environmental clearances.
“A project of this scale only works when you surround yourself with great partners,” said the younger Lagasse, a Flagler College graduate whose racing career advanced all the way to the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, making 70 starts in the stepping-stone division to the premier Cup Series before returning home to TeamSLR and winning in the TA2 Series. “We’ve assembled an incredible team that shares our vision and understands what it takes to deliver a world-class motorsports community. Every decision has been made with the member experience in mind.” It’s an experience that extends beyond Roaring Pines, as the facility is strategically located in an area that caters to nearly all interests.
Just 30 miles away lies historic St. Augustine, home to fine dining and upscale shopping and the white sand of Crescent Beach. World-renowned bass fishing can be found on the nearby St. Johns River. The World Equestrian Center in Ocala and the Ocala National Forest are within a 60-mile radius, while the University of Florida, home to the SEC’s Florida Gators, sits just 40 miles west in Gainesville. Daytona International Speedway, host of the prestigious Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona and Daytona 500, is less than 60 miles south off Interstate 95.
“Roaring Pines offers experiences the whole family can enjoy,” Lagasse Sr. said. “Obviously, it’s still focused on car culture and on-track performance, but membership provides something for everyone. Excitement and relaxation coexist.” As site preparation begins, Roaring Pines’ membership ranks are starting to fill. To learn more about this unique facility and its attributes,
